This article is to help businesses that have more than one location and want to manage how staff and members view and access their locations.

Creating Locations

  • The feature should be enabled already, if it isn't, go to Tools > Profile > Settings and enable "Locations"

  • Under Tools on the left-hand side you will now see an option called "Locations"

  • You can edit the name and address of the default location to be that of your studio

  • You can add more locations

  • You can create taxes by location (article)

Gating Content to a Location

  • When creating a package, retail item, or other content there is a location option

  • Choose which location(s) the content can be used in

    • If you have restricted clients to only view content accessible in their Home location, they will not be able to see items that do not include their home location

Staff Location Management

  • Choose which locations staff have access to and what level access they have (article)

Home Location

  • You have the ability to ask clients to choose a home location when creating an account

    • Go to Tools > Profile > Settings

    • You have two options you can toggle on

  • You also have the ability to restrict the content they can see (classes, packages, etc.) based on their home location

    • Important: If you use families and the parent has a home location different from their child, they will not be able to book their child into classes outside of the parents' home location

Audiences / Comm Center

  • This is only applicable if you have toggled on the above feature "Restrict to Home Location"

  • When creating a new Channel, it will ask you to choose a location

  • When creating a new audience, it will ask you to choose a location

  • You will only be able to see Channels and Audiences that contain a location for which you have access

  • Important: If you create an audience for "ALL" locations, then all staff will be able to message that thread

    • Reminder: Comm Center is like Slack and WhatsApp - if you are in a channel you can message it, but you can't see Channels you do not have access to. In Recess, this means you cannot see Channels in locations you do not have access to

Revenue by Location

Revenue can be attributed to a location for better tracking of performance in one of three ways.

  1. Home Location: Require clients to choose a home location and only allow them to buy content for their home location

  2. Content by Location: Create packages/retail that can only be used at a single location

  3. Choose at Checkout: If content works across all locations you have the option to choose if a client or staff can select the location that should receive the revenue at checkout by clicking the drop-down menu
