You can sell everything from water bottles to clothing with multiple sizes, colors, and fits! The dashboard lets you keep it simple or customize the level of detail you'd like to list any given item.
How to create simple retail items
Navigate to the Services & Products section on your dash and click retail
Click the yellow "+" button on the top of the page
Choose "Simple"
Add a name and description
Inventory
If you want to track inventory, enter in an amount. The system will subtract items you sell and add them back to stock when you refund
Note: if you do not want to add an item back to stock, you'll need to manually edit the inventory left
If you have multiple locations, you can track inventory at the location level or the aggregate level
We recommend adding an image, as this is what will be present in the app and on your website
Option: you can toggle on "Hidden on profile". This lets you still sell the item in the Dash but customers will not see it in the app
How to create combination retail items
Combination retail items are more involved to set up. The following steps need to be done in order, and we recommend building this out in a google sheet first as there are some things that you cannot change once you have started the process.
Note: Locations feature needs to be on to create advanced retail products. You can enable this under Tools>Profile>Settings and toggle on "Location(s)".
Example: You want to see t-shirts that come in a variety of sizes and colors, you should list out in a google sheet all of the combination options that you plan to see.
The following are the steps to create combination retail items
Navigate to the Services & Products section on your dash and click retail
Click the Blue "Attributes" button next to the yellow plus sign
Click the yellow "+" button to create your attributes
Attributes are things like sizes, colors, fits, etc.
Some common attributes you might want to create
Womens Sizes: XS - XL
Womens Sizes: 0-32
Colors: Blue, Black, Red, etc.
Fit: Slim, Regular, Baggy
When creating attributes you'll want to think about what the customer will see and how they will choose what options to buy. You can have up to 3 attributes on an item. For example:
When selling a T-shirt you could list: Womens sizes, Colors, and Fit (3 attributes) and you can let people choose any combination of those 3 options to purchase (assuming you have the inventory). E.g.,
Small, red, slim
Large, blue, regular
etc.
Enter the necessary information
Name: This is what your customer sees. If you do not want them to see Womens vs Mens sizes, you can have the name be "Sizes" and then the internal name can be Womens or Mens.
Inside of each box is the information related to the attributed
Name
Short Name (we recommend this always be filled out. When this is not filled out, customers will have to use a drop-down to choose options, when this is filled out, they will simply click the option. See the customer experience video at the beginning of the article)
Color - this option is only necessary if the attribute is color-related (blue, black, red, etc.). It can be ignored for other attributes like sizes and fits. See the image below as an example.
Image This is not a product image. The image is a very small rectangle box on the client side. It will show either the short name like XL for a size, the actual color you chose above like red, or you can add an image. The image is great for showing a pattern.
Order The order is how they will appear to your customers. You can use the up/down arrows to change the order.
Customer View Here is an example of how it will look to the customer when all sizes have a short name and all colors have a color chosen. The order of sizes is XL to Sm but you can change that to be the inverse by using the up/down arrows.
Once all attributes are added (you can add more for other products later), you'll want to go back to the Retail page and click the yellow "+" button and then Advanced
This will be very similar to creating a retail product above
Add a name, description, and price
IMPORTANT: when you choose which attributes to use, you cannot edit this later.
Image: The image will be shown if you do not upload specific images for each combo item. For example, if you upload a main image and then do not load one for XL - Black, the main image will be shown.
Next you will enter all of the options you have available for someone to purchase.
It's helpful if you have all of this listed out in a Google Sheet, but not required
We recommend clicking "Generate". This will create every combination of the attributes you chose. Warning: If you have have 10 size options and 10 color options, this will create 100 possible options. You can easily "delete" any combination you don't need, or you can create combinations one at a time by clicking "Add a New Product"
You can then go through each option and add a dedicated image if you'd like, along with the inventory.
Once you are done, click Save
Go back to the main Retail page and click on the item
You can see the inventory of every item as you scroll down
Note: You have the ability to archive any product combination you create. Archiving will make the product combination unavailable to purchase to your customers and to you inside of the Dashboard.
Fulfillment
If you want to track that an item was handed to a customer, you can turn on the fulfillment feature. When turning this on, it will apply to all retail items.
Go to Tools > Profile > Settings
Look for fulfillment and toggle it on
On your main dashboard you will see a new progress bar for all sold retail items that have not been fulfilled
You can click this to mark items fulfilled
You can also click the 3 dots next to any retail item anywhere in the dash and mark it as fulfilled
Displaying Retail in the app or on your website
It is recommended you use tags to organize your retail items in the app. If you do not use tags, items will be shown in a vertical list. Tags will group items (e.g., Shirts) into a row so it's easier to filter and search
Go to Tools > Profile > Settings and toggle on "Use tag view for retail product view on iFrame"
Next go to Tags and create the tags you want to use such as "Shirts" "Drinks" etc. Article on tags
Now tag the retail items that belong to each tag
