Class templates are a way to quickly create a new series of classes without having to recreate every aspect of a class. Things to note about class templates:

  • They can be used to create IRL and Virtual Public and Private classes

  • They cannot be used to create appointments

Important:

After creating a class template, the system will process it overnight. This means classes will appear on your schedule the following morning, not immediately.

In this article, we will cover

Global Studio Settings

  1. Enable Class Templates

    • Go to Tools > Profile > Settings > Scroll and toggle on "Class Templates"

  2. Scroll up to "Class Templates"

    • Choose how far into the future a series is created. If you create a series for 12 months, but only want 6 months published at a time, set it to 6 months.

    • Choose how often new classes in a series should be created. If you set this to 1 month, then every month additional classes will be created.

**This is useful if you plan to have a year's worth of classes, but you want them to be created and scheduled on your calendar quarter by quarter. In this example, you would put 3 months in the first section (initial class schedule) and 3 months in the second section (create another 3 months of classes in 3 months) so that the new class series is launched every quarter.

Creating a Template

  1. Go to Schedule & Programming

  2. Scroll down to Class Templates

  3. Click the yellow "+" button

  4. Here you will create the default settings. All of these can be adjusted at the series level.

  5. Click "Save"

Creating a Series

Important Notes

  • When you create a series the classes will be created between 11pm - 7am PST the same night

  • If you edit the Class Series Template after the classes are created, it will not update already created classes. It will only affect future classes that have yet to be created.

  • If you want to update a series after it is created, go to your calendar > find the series > edit it from there

Creating the Series

  1. From the Class Template you created above, scroll down and click "Add a New Class Series"

  2. Some information will pre-populate based on the Class Template, all of which you can edit

  3. Enter the basic info

    • Recurrence: Choose from weekly/monthly/etc. to the same day every month and more

    • Important: Editing a series after it's on your calendar

      • Example: You make a series recur on M/W/F at 7am

      • That series gets created and you see it on your calendar

      • If you edit any class and choose "edit entire series" it will edit all classes on your schedule that are part of the series, so M/W/F at 7am

      • It will NOT edit the template

  4. Optional Info

    • If you are creating an "In-Person" series you can check the box to create a virtual series as well

    • Note: The virtual series is not linked to the in-person one. It will duplicate all of the information and make it virtual. This is important when you edit the series later, as you will need to edit the in-person series separately from the virtual one

  5. Click "Save"

  6. Reminder - classes will be created overnight, and based on the settings in section 1 above

Editing a Class Template Series vs a Scheduled Series

  1. If you edit the Series that is inside the template, it will only affect classes that are yet to be created. It will not change any classes already on your schedule.

  2. To change classes on your schedule go to your calendar and choose the class and click edit.

    • When you click save it will ask you to change that class or the series

    • Choosing "Series" only impacts the classes already on your calendar, it does not change the settings in your class template
