Getting paid, tokens and fees

Class Pricing

As an instructor, you decide the prices of your class. If you are teaching on your own website, classes will show up as a $ amount. If you are teaching on Recess.tv, your classes show up in tokens. In this case, you should promote prices in tokens, not dollars (tokens are worth 10c each).

When clients book a class, 100% of the value goes to you; if you price a class at 100 tokens ($10), you will receive $10 for every client that participates. As an instructor, it costs nothing to have a profile or use our platform, and this will never change.

Client Token Purchases

We use a token-based system for clients to pay for classes on Recess.tv. When clients join Recess, they buy bundles of tokens, and we take a small fee. Clients can buy tokens at any time from anywhere in the world. Tokens expire after 365 days.

On your personal/business website, clients see and pay for classes in dollars. They will see an additional transaction fee during checkout.

Tips & Bonuses

After your clients take a class, a popup will appear to rate the class and tip you. There are a couple of things you can earn bonuses for including referring clients. These tips and bonuses are paid out once a month.

Payment

We will send you all revenue through Stripe. Live classes are paid for on the day of the class. Packages, memberships, and on-demand videos are paid on the same day as the purchase. This way, you don’t get charged fees for your payments and will receive them on time.

Pro Tip: What should you charge for a class? You can change anything that you would like! If you have been hosting your own classes, whatever you have been charging is a good place to start. If not, we recommend starting at $10/class for 30-40min classes and $12 for 45-60min classes. You can always change this to adjust your needs!
