Setting Up and Managing Memberships & Packages.
Packages and subscriptions are the memberships clients buy to book your classes. This article covers how to create both, add a free trial or introductory offer, and edit them afterwards.
Package or Subscription?
- Package: A set number of class credits (often called a class pack). It doesn’t renew on a schedule. It expires after a set number of days, or can only be used within a date range.
- Subscription (Memberships): Credits that renew weekly, monthly, yearly, or on a custom schedule. Credits reset each renewal, and you can attach a contract.
Creating a Package or Subscription
Go to Products & Services > Subscriptions & Packages, then click the yellow + button at the top of the page.

- Enter a name, then pick Package or Subscription under Choose type.
- Set the Renewal or Expiry
For a Subscription:
- Under Renews every, select Weekly, Monthly, Yearly or Custom.
- If you chose Custom, enter a number of days in What is the renewal frequency?
For a Package:
Use the panel on the right.
- Turn on Expiration days after purchase and enter the number of days. The default is 365.
- Turn on Never expires if the package should stay valid indefinitely.
- Turn on Is this product only redeemable during a specific timeframe? to set a Start Date and End Date instead.

-
Add the Headline, Price and Description
- Headline (optional): Short text shown in large type to clients, like “Save $40 a month”. Up to 40 characters.
- Price in USD ($): Enter the price.
- Storefront group (optional): Groups your packages on your storefront. It doesn’t change what credits cover.
- Description: Describe the membership. Click + Add pictures to include images.

- Choose Where It’s Sold: In Locations, each location has two checkboxes:
- Sold and used here: Clients can buy and use the membership at this location.
- Shown to clients here: The membership appears in the app and on your website for this location.
- Tick Shown wherever it is sold to show it everywhere it’s sold. Untick it to choose where it shows.

Set the Included Credits
Under How do clients use their credits?, choose one:
- Limit each type: Each class type has its own credits, kept apart. For example, 10 classes and 4 PT.
- Mix & Match: Clients get one pool of credits for any of the class types you add. For example, 12 credits for any mix of classes and PT.
Then add what the membership covers:
- Click + Add to add a row for a type, such as In-person classes, Virtual classes or On demand.
- In Which ones, select the class categories. Use SELECT ALL to pick every category.
- In Credits, choose a number, Unlimited, or Mix & Match.
- Repeat for each type you want to include.
If you chose Mix & Match, enter the total in Mix & Match credits. All rows set to Mix & Match share it, and you need at least two rows.
📝 Note: Class categories are shared. Changing them on one class row changes every class row.
On subscriptions, turn on Roll over unused credits at the end of each renewal period to carry leftover credits into the next period.

Auto-enroll (optional)
Auto-enroll books clients into classes when they buy. It’s available on class rows, not on demand rows.
- Turn on Auto-enroll for the row.
- Choose Every class in these categories or Chosen classes.
- If you chose Chosen classes, select them in the Class field.
Every class in these categories enrolls clients into whatever in-person classes are coming up when they buy or renew, including classes you add later.
📝 Note: If Auto-enroll is on but no classes are attached, nothing happens when a client buys.

Set the Start Date
By default, a membership starts the day the client buys it. In Start date, you can change that:
- Starts at the client’s first booking: The membership starts when the client books their first class. Under If they don’t book, it starts this long after they buy, set a number of days, such as 61. The start date is fixed once it has passed.
- Client picks a start date instead: Set how far ahead they can choose in Up to this far ahead. In When they pay, choose On the start date or At checkout. Tick They must pick a date to buy it to require a date at purchase.
You can only use one of these at a time. The What clients get line shows what clients will see.

Add a Contract (Optional)
Turn on Has a contract, then choose one from Choose a contract or click + Create new.

Add a Thumbnail
Open Add a picture and click Upload Thumbnail.

Review the Settings Panel
The panel on the right has these switches:
- Visible to clients: Shows the membership in the app and on your website.
- Quick add from Dashboard cart: Adds a button so staff can quickly add it to a cart.
- Allow client to cancel online: Lets clients cancel without contacting you. A contract’s cancellation policy overrides this.
- Auto-renew after package is used up: Renews the package when the client uses their last credit. Packages only.
- Recommend first: Shows this membership before your others in recommendations.
- Grants open gym access: Lets clients check in for open gym while the membership is active. If you use door access, it unlocks the door too.

Publish and Save
- Turn Publish on to make the membership available, or off to save it as unpublished.
- Click Save.

Adding a Free Trial or Introductory Offer
Introductory offers let new clients try a membership for less, or for free. They pay full price once the offer ends. You can add one while creating a membership, or edit an existing membership.
- In the right-hand panel, turn on Add an introductory offer.
- Choose a Kind:
- Amount/Percent Off: Enter a dollar amount in $ Off or a percentage in % Off. The fields stay linked, and Discounted Price shows the result. 100% off makes it free.
- Set price (no discount): Enter the price clients pay for the offer.
- Free Trial: Shown on subscriptions. Enter the number of days in Trial duration. The subscription then renews at full price.
- Optional: Set Redeemable from and Redeemable until. Leave them empty to start immediately and run indefinitely.
- In Who can redeem this trial?, choose who qualifies:
- never purchased anything
- never purchased a package
- never purchased this specific package
- never booked a class
- Optional: Enter a number in Redeemable again after days of inactivity to let clients redeem the offer again after that many inactive days. Leave it empty to allow one redemption.
- Click Save.

Example: A $500 package has a $100-off offer redeemable from May 1 to May 31. It costs $500 on April 30, $400 on May 15, and $500 on June 1.
Editing a Package or Subscription
- Open the membership and click Edit in the top-right corner.
- Choose to edit the current version or create a new one.
Editing the current version applies changes immediately. Fields that are disabled need a new version. Creating a new version unpublishes the current one, and existing clients move to the new version on their next renewal date, once any contract has ended.
To change the price, create a new version. New buyers pay the new price straight away, and current clients move to it at their next renewal. Clients using a discount code may need separate updates to keep their prices consistent.
