🔍 Walkthrough: Class Booking: Confirmation, Reminder, and Follow Up

Let's walk through one of the most commonly used sequences so you can see exactly how it's structured.

What It Does:

This sequence is triggered automatically when a client books a class. It does these 4 things:

  1. Confirms the booking: so the client knows their spot is locked in
  2. Reminds them before class: reducing no-shows and keeping attendance high
  3. Confirms Check In: Thanks them for coming
  4. Confirms No Show: Missed you email sent to client to encourage attendance

How It's Set Up:

Trigger: Client books a class

Action 1: Booking Confirmation (Immediate) An email fires right away confirming the booking. It includes the class name, date, time, and location.

Action 2: Reminder (2 Hours Before Class) A follow-up message reminds the client of their upcoming session. A great place to include what to bring, what to expect, and your cancellation policy.

Condition: Checked In? This Node will check if a client was checked in or not and then follow either action 4 or 5.

Action 4: If Yes, Thank You Email  The client will receive a thank you email for attending the class.

Action 5:  If No, We Missed You Email (4 hours after the class) An email will be sent to the client letting them know you missed them in the class.

Action 6: End

📚10 Sequences Every Business Should Have

We recommend implementing these 10 sequences that are all located and available in the Recess Library, ready to install and customize in minutes.

A. Class Booking: Confirmation, Reminder, and Follow Up -

Automatically sends a booking confirmation the moment a client registers for a class, then follows up with a timely reminder before the session starts. This is one of the highest-impact sequences you can run it sets a professional tone and keeps no-shows low.

B.  First Class > Trial Offer Nurture

Triggered after a client attends their first class, this sequence follows up with a compelling trial offer to convert them into a paying member.

3. Account Creation: Welcome + Book a Class

Fires when someone creates a new account. It welcomes them to your community and immediately nudges them to book their first class.

4. Lead - No Show / Cancel Flow (Intro Rescheduling Attempt)

When a lead no-shows or cancels their intro, this sequence reaches back out to re-engage and get them rescheduled. Without this flow, most leads who cancel disappear, this keeps them moving forward.

5. Notification: Client Bought a Package/Membership

Celebrates a client's purchase with a warm congratulatory message and clear next steps. It reinforces their decision to invest and gets them excited to use what they just bought.

6. Lead Gen: Offer = 1 Free Class

Built for top-of-funnel lead generation. This sequence nurtures prospects who were offered a free class, guiding them from initial interest to a confirmed booking.

7. Lead Gen: Lead Submission, Encourage to Book

Fires the moment a new lead submits their info. Immediate follow-up is critical here. This sequence strikes while interest is high and encourages them to take the next step.

8. Payment Failure

Automatically reaches out when a payment fails, helping you recover revenue without an awkward manual conversation. Clean, professional, and fully automated.

9. Waitlist: A Client Is Notified a Spot Is Open

When a spot opens in a waitlisted class, this sequence notifies the client and prompts them to act quickly before the spot is taken by someone else.

10. Active Client: Add Tag

A flexible, evergreen sequence triggered by adding a specific tag to a client's profile. Use it to re-engage, upsell, or send targeted messaging to any active client segment.

✅ Pro Tips

  • Keep confirmation messages short. Clients just need to know: what, when, and where. Save the storytelling for nurture sequences.
  • Use variables to personalize. Use the envelope icon in the message editor to insert personalized fields. Small touches that make a big difference.
