Creating a Class

The platform supports these class types, all created through the Dashboard:

• Live
• In-Person
• On-Demand

All class creation begins by going to Schedule & Programming in the left menu and clicking + Create New Class in the upper-right corner.

Running a class with two coaches? You can now add a co-coach to your classes and appointments. See Adding a co-coach at the bottom of this article to switch it on.

How to Create a Live Class

1. To create a live class, go to the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen and hover over Schedule & Programming
2. And select Virtual (Live).
3. Now you're on your Virtual classes page! Once you are here, press + Create New Class in the upper-righthand corner of the page.
4. Here you can input all of your class information. Additionally, you will need:
   • Select if you'd like to have the class recur. (Daily, weekly, or weekdays)
   • Class size: This will limit the number of class participants
   • Co-coach (optional): If you've turned on co-coaching, you can choose a second coach from the Co-coach dropdown under the coach. Learn how to turn it on below.

5. Creating a class from this page is great for a single or short series under 5 weeks. For ongoing classes, create a template.
6. When selecting price you have the options below:
   • Paid class
     • Drop-in price for non-members, members on Live packages are not charged
   • Paid class (excl. packages)
     • Anyone who signs up for the class must pay, Live packages must pay
   • Free class with donations
     • Clients have the option to join for free or donate
   • Free class
7. If using zoom, you can select if you'd like your class to auto record and upload.Next, we have the More details section
   • Please fill out any equipment needed and if using the playground, any workout cards you'd like on your class.
8. You can also select when you'd like the class to publish at. By using this, the class will be hidden on your page until the date you select.
9. Next please select any packages you would like auto-enrolled into the class. Clients in these packages will be automatically signed up for class and will receive an email with the class link:
10. Now it's time to add some class photos! You are able to select any previous class photos or trailers OR upload new.
11. Last (if using zoom) select the payment amount you would like for when your on-demand posts.
12. Press Create and you're done!

How to Create In-Person Classes

1. To create a live class, go to the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen and hover over Schedule & Programming
2. And select In-Person.
3. Now you're on your In-Person. classes page! Once you are here, press + Create New Class in the upper-righthand corner of the page.
4. Here you can input all of your class information. Additionally, you will need:
   • Select if you'd like to have the class recur. (Daily, weekly, or weekdays)
   • Class size: This will limit the number of class participants
   • Class Location
   • If you'd like to create a linked Virtual class, please press the check box below the location
   • Co-coach (optional): If you've turned on co-coaching, you can choose a second coach from the Co-coach dropdown under the coach. Learn how to turn it on below.
5. to 12. above (Unchanged)

How To Create On-Demand Classes

1. You can create on-demand content in two ways:

• Recording a class: During a live class on Recess, record the class inside of the Playground or auto-record and upload with Zoom.
• Upload a class: Upload any video file you have of a class.

2. To upload the on-demand class, please go to your VOD - Video on Demand tab. (Classes -> VOD- Video On Demand)
3. To upload a class, please select + Create New Class in the upper right-hand corner of the VOD page.
4. Once you press + create a new class, you are brought to a pop-up where you can add the class details.
5. The details of the on-demand class can be set including cost, a publication date, unpublishing date, and expiration date. The great thing about the publish and unpublish feature is that it allows you to control when your clients can buy the on-demand class. Although these fields are optional, they may save you the trouble of remembering when to remove the class from your page.
6. Once everything is filled out, press Next
7. Here you can add any equipment needed and tag the video so it shows up in the correct class category on your on-demand page.
8. Press Next
9. Here you can select the video you'd like to upload, use a thumbnail that is saved or upload a new one, and upload an optional class trailer.
10. Once you complete this, please press Create and wait until your video is uploaded!

Adding a co-coach

If some of your classes are led by two coaches, you can add a co-coach so both coaches show on your schedule and both get paid.

Turn on co-coaching

1. Go to Tools > Profile > Settings > Your offerings.
2. Turn on Enable co-coach. It's off by default, so nothing changes on your forms, app or embed until you turn it on.

Once it's on, a Co-coach dropdown appears under the coach on group classes, appointments, events, series and programs.

Good to know

• The co-coach is optional. You can save a class without one, or remove the co-coach later at any time.
• The co-coach list shows the same coaches as the main coach dropdown, except whoever is leading, so the same person can't be picked twice. If you make the current co-coach the lead, the co-coach field clears so you can choose someone else.
• For recurring classes, changing the co-coach applies to the same sessions that changing the coach would.

• Subbing the lead coach doesn't change the co-coach.

  
  

Where both coaches show up

Both coaches appear on your dashboard calendar and on the class page. Filtering the calendar by the co-coach will bring up their sessions too, and the co-coach will see the session on their own schedule. Your clients will also see both coaches on the schedule and class page in your app and on your website embed. Classes with one coach look exactly as they do today.

Turning co-coaching off

If you turn off Enable co-coach, you'll see a warning first. Once you confirm, the co-coach is removed from all future sessions. Past sessions keep their co-coach, and their payroll stays the same. If you cancel, nothing changes.
