Troubleshooting Video on the Playground

If you are having trouble connecting your camera to the Playground, please follow some of the troubleshooting tricks below:

Giving access to your camera

When you join a class on the playground for the first time, Google Chrome will ask for your permission to use your audio and video on Recess.tv. Please make sure that you allow both.

If you have taken a class on Recess.tv before and your camera is not connecting, follow the steps below.

1. Make sure Recess has the permission to use your camera by clicking the

in your URL bar

2. This will open your Chrome settings where you should set both your mic and video to allow.

3. You will need to refresh the page for the settings to take effect.

Selecting a Camera

The playground will automatically connect to your default camera, but if you would like to select a different camera please follow these directions.

on the top left to open the settings panel and then click the drop-down under camera. Make sure the camera you want to use is selected. If it is not working, try selecting a different option to see if the camera is connecting at all. If a camera is working, but not the one you want, reach out to our partners team for a troubleshooting session. If none of the options are working, try the step below.
